Juliet Benis

Ambler Primary School

Juliet Benis is the headteacher of Ambler Primary School and Children’s Centre, although in November 2021, she announced that she will be moving on. She is well loved by parents, and has helped hundreds of young Islington children get a great start at life. She is energetic, committed, and goes to great lengths to make all of the children feel included in the community.

Benis put into place a set of DREAMS qualities (Determination, Resilience, Empathy, Ambition, Motivation and Self Belief) that the children could all strive to achieve no matter what background, ethnicity, or religion. Benis is described as being full of joy and mischief, and knowing the children personally and by name.

Whatever she chooses to move onto next, Benis has made lasting changes on the children and families she has come into contact with. She is committed to helping children from all backgrounds, and has been instrumental in helping the children maintain strength and enthusiasm during the pandemic.
